Getting started on Tekflo
As a person with 8 years of working experience in the construction and electrical fields, Michael knows the frustration of dealing with paper blueprints. He has personally dealt with the fact that they are cumbersome, easily misplaced, often are damaged beyond recognition, and lead to a horribly inefficient flow of information.
Because of this personal frustration, Michael began to think that there had to be a better way. In the summer of 2010, then-recent advances in technology led him to his answer - DIGITAL BLUEPRINTS ON MOBILE DEVICES! Of course, simply building an application to allow for the use of digital blueprints wouldn't be enough. The application would have to be extremely user-friendly, device-agnostic, fast, etc.
Although the idea struck him as a good one, Michael took the time to refine the idea and carry out diligent research. After joining the International Business Degree Program at HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences in Pasila, Finland, in the fall of 2011, Michael decided to give his idea a shot. Shortly after making this decision, Michael contacted his brother Todd to discuss the idea, its development, and the possibility of becoming a team.
As a graduate of the University of Washington with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems concentration, Todd was the perfect person to handle the responsibility of laying out the architecture and specifications of the application. His school and work experiences have channeled him down the path of business and technology and he has come to love the challenge of making technology a strategical element of business and in designing products that work.
After deciding to become a team and combine their technical and business knowledge, Todd and Michael started on their journey of turning what was once a simple idea into reality!
